As performance segment cars have been marking their presence in India, Polestar, the performance brand of Volvo too makes its big entry here with its S60 Polestar launched at Rs.52.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Volvo, a brand popular with sedans and cross country vehicles launched the 2017 iteration of the S60 Polestar in the country with improved engine and cosmetic upgrades.
Marking close resemblance to the standard S60, the minor cosmetic tweaks have played its part in delivering the looks of a sports car to this new model. Compared to the old S60 Polestar, this newcomer weighs almost 20kgs lesser owing to the lightweight equipment used throughout including the small engine. The all new blue paint scheme with the glossy black grille and bumper, Polestar badge on its rear, the popular R-design and the 20-inch Polestar alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Super sport tyres mark elements of sportiness on the new S60 Polestar. Interiors come with front sports seats and leather upholstery, touch screen infotainment system, Bowers and Wilkins Audio system and many more innovative features.
Volvo Polestar is equipped with a 2L T6 turbocharged engine with four cylinders that produces 367bhp and 470Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission unit. The S60 Polestar will be the fastest car in the country that touches 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds and gains top speed of 250kmph. Safety features include dual front airbags, ISOFIX mounted seats, Emergency Brake Assist and many more. The S60 Polestar openly challenges the Mercedes Benz CLA AMG 45 and the Audi S5.
Hyundai let out a teaser of their all new electric SUV, Kona that is about to make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The compact SUV was unveiled last year and the fully electric version will be launched in the second half of 2018 in US. However, the details and specifications of Kona will be officially made available at the end of this month.

Hindustan Motors has signed an agreement with Peugeot, selling Ambassador Brand and certain related rights at a sum of Rs.80 crore. It also said that the proceeds of the sale will be used to clear all pending dues of employees and lenders.

Honda WR-V (Winsome Runabout Vehicle), the sub compact crossover was unveiled at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. Now, Honda is about to launch the same here in the country on March 16th, 2017. As WR-V rolls here, India will earn the name for being the first country to produce and launch it in the world. Previously named as the Jazz Twist, this crossover is based on the company’s best seller Honda Jazz but is slightly longer and taller than the latter.
